The benefits of bicycling are extensive. Not only does it keep gas money in your pocket and help you avoid the hassle of traffic jams and finding a parking spot, the exercise lowers your heart rate, decreases stress levels and is the only mechanical method of transportation with virtually no carbon footprint. The International Bicycle Fund (IBF, ibike.org) was created to help spread this message. By providing knowledge, experience and financial support to programs and governments around the world, IBF helps build the infrastructure to promote the use of bicycles and other forms of sustainable transport.
