This is the driving principal behind Surfing4Peace (S4P, surfing4peace.org), a community of concerned surfers and supporters who aim to bridge the cultural and political barriers in the Middle East through surfing. S4P creates unique campaigns based around surfing and beach culture in an effort to promote coexistence, cross-cultural dialogue, and the shared surfing experience. The anchor is a symbol of stability amongst the ocean's movement. This represents the grounding mechanism that surfing creates among all surfers. When we paddle out, we are all one at sea."
